Cardiff Triathlon 2024

Future Inn Cardiff is proud to have been working with the Cardiff Triathlon team since 2017. The annual event is a fantastic experience in every single way. It takes place on Sunday 30 June 2024.
The first wave starts with a swim in the beautiful Cardiff Bay (which is right on our Cardiff hotel's doorstep). The Cardiff Triathlon Route then moves on to a completely closed road cycle through the city centre and Cardiff streets and a run across the Cardiff Bay Barrage.
Depending on your level, there are four distances that you can choose to take part in, Sprint, Super Sprint, Olympic and Legend. The Sprint distance (World Championship Qualifier) features a 750-metre swim, an 18.5km cycle and a 4.7km run. While popular with beginners is the Super Sprint which consists of a 400-metre swim, 9.3km cycle and a 2.5km run. The Olympic distance triathlon includes a unique 1,500-metre swim, 37km cycle and a 9km run. Finally, there's the Legend with a 1900-metre swim, 88km cycle and 21.8km run.

Thomas Restaurant is ideal to fuel up before the sporting event. The team serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, evening a-la-carte or traditional roasts on Sunday. A homemade Taste of Wales Afternoon Tea is served daily between 1pm-5pm or our set menu offers 3 courses for £25 daily from 5pm.
If you are staying in the hotel, room service is available 24/7.
A large selection of drinks is also available, including popular local brands. Our Welsh drink selection includes Brains beers, Penderyn whiskey and vodka, Benjamin Hall gins, and Cariad wines. Plus, an extensive gin and mixer menu and 2 for £16 cocktails.
