What is a table d'hôte or TDH menu?

In restaurant terminology, a table d'hôte menu is a multi-course meal with a smaller selection of choices charged at a fixed price. It is also known as a set menu. It in no way reduces the quality of the food you receive. The main difference between an a-la-carte and table d'hôte menu is that the a-la-carte will have a wide variety of courses that are individually priced, whereas the table d'hôte is a menu type usually with a set number of courses, all for a set price.

Restaurants in Cardiff Bay

Thomas Restaurant is located in Future Inn Cardiff and serves British food, as well as contemporary and traditional Welsh cuisine. All of our dishes are homemade on-site. We use local and fresh produce to give you a true Taste of Wales.

The restaurant is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch and afternoon tea, in the evening for a-la-carte dining and traditional roasts on Sunday.

A large selection of drinks is also available, including popular local brands. Our Welsh drink selection includes Brains beers, Penderyn whiskey and vodka, Benjamin Hall gins, and Cariad wines. Alongside an extensive gin and mixer menu and 2 for £16 on cocktails. Naturally, there’s a good choice of soft drinks too.

Admittedly there is no disabled toilet in the restaurant; however, there is one in the conference corridor next to the other bathrooms. This is a short distance away. Be sure to check out our accessible guide to the hotel and restaurant.

Guests at Thomas Restaurant get free parking. Please ensure you enter your car registration details on one of the restaurant consoles or reception consoles when you arrive.
