Cycling in Cardiff Bay

The Cardiff Bay Barrage route provides a safe pedestrian and cycle route. You can enjoy Cardiff’s rich heritage along the trail and see historic landmarks like the Norwegian Church alongside iconic buildings like the world-renowned Wales Millennium Centre and the Senedd.

The circular trail for cyclists and walkers is 10km long. It runs around the Bay and across to the seaside town of Penarth via Pont Y Werin, a 140m bridge providing a link for pedestrians and cyclists between Penarth and the International Sports Village.

Cardiff's section of the Taff Trail is 26.5km. It is a fun and scenic way to explore Cardiff and travel through the city’s pretty parks and green open spaces. The River Taff is a haven for wildlife. Look out for kingfishers, grey herons feeding on river banks and leaping salmon at Blackweir.

The trail will take you past the Wales Millennium Centre, the Principality Stadium, Cardiff Castle, Bute Park, Sophia Gardens, Pontcanna Fields and Llandaff Cathedral.
