Hotel FAQ's

Check in is from 3pm on the scheduled day of arrival, unless otherwise stated on the booking confirmation.

Check out is at 11am on the scheduled day of departure, unless otherwise stated on the booking confirmation.

Yes, some of the Future Inn Plymouth bedrooms are modified for those who may need accessible equipment or requirements such as walk-in showers and wet rooms. Find out more about our accessible rooms here.

We offer free parking for all of our guests and have sufficient parking spaces. You will need to enter your car registration into the database on arrival at the hotel, to avoid being charged. All owners leave their cars at their own risk. The management will not accept responsibility for damage, accident or loss.

Unfortunately, we are unable to book a specific space for you.

Spaces are available for blue badge holders.

We have two dedicated coach parking bays, ideal for group bookings or large parties. 

Our Reception is open 24 hours and our colleagues will be at your service day and night.

Assistant dogs are accepted with prior arrangement, but otherwise, no pets are allowed at the hotel.

The sizes of the rooms vary, depending on which category you are looking at. All of our rooms are spacious. Find out more about our rooms here.

Children and families are more than welcome to stay at Future Inn Plymouth. Children under 12 years of age stay free of charge when sharing a room with at least one adult, using existing beds on a room-only basis. All children (a person under 18 years of age) staying at the hotel must be accompanied by an adult and must be supervised by an adult at all times.

A babysitting service is not available at the hotel.

Unfortunately, it is against the law to smoke indoors or in public places, however, we do have a designated smoking area outside.

Guests found possessing or using illicit drugs, as defined by law, during their stay will be required to leave immediately and may be held criminally liable.

In the interests of security and to prevent fraud, at the time of booking or at check-in, guests may be required to confirm their identity by providing their booking reference and their passport/identity card/driving licence.  If guests are travelling from outside the UK, Ireland or any country in the Commonwealth we are also obliged by law to require guests to provide the number and place of issue of your passport/identity card and details of their next destination.  We reserve the right to refuse entry to persons who cannot provide the information set out above.

These records will be kept for up to 7 years and may be disclosed or made available for inspection by any police officer or as otherwise required by applicable law in connection with the prevention or investigation of crime.  The information above may be requested for each member of your party over the age of 18.

All rooms that have been secured by credit/debit card (excluding American Express) or prepaid at the time of booking will be held until 11:59pm on the scheduled day of arrival unless the guest has notified the hotel of a late arrival. We are unable to accept cash payments.

Gift vouchers can be exchanged for goods and services. All vouchers are non-refundable and non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash. If the intended purchase is for a higher amount than the face value, the difference will need to be made up in cash; for a lower amount no change can be given. We reserve the right to discontinue a voucher at any time or to modify any offers. Vouchers cannot be replaced if lost, stolen or damaged. The date which each voucher is valid is noted, the voucher cannot be used after this date. Vouchers must be produced at the time of use. A guarantee on a credit or debit card will be taken and will be used if the voucher is not produced or does not meet the above. Bookings cannot be made on our website if you want to pay with a gift voucher, these do need to be made directly with the Hotel.

Wireless internet access is available throughout the hotel and in all guest rooms free of charge.

Unfortunately, this is not something we are able to offer. Our colleagues are also happy to assist you find your public transport or call a taxi for you.

Depending on what has been lost, broken or damaged we reserve the right to charge your debit or credit card for any damage incurred to your room or property in the hotel during your stay, including specialist cleaning.

We have a fitness room which has a small range of cardio equipment. This is complimentary, and at no additional charge for our hotel guests.

Room service is available 24 hours a day and the menu will be available in your hotel bedroom.

The following is available in all of our bedrooms; desk and workspace, tea and coffee making facilities, robe and slippers, air conditioning and heat control, mist-free bathroom mirror, laptop safe, iron and ironing board, hairdryer, complimentary bottled water, full length mirror, easy chair and footstool, free local telephone calls, ice bucket and wine glasses, complimentary toiletries and a flat-screen TV.

When booking through our website, or via the team directly at the hotel, we guarantee that you will get the best available rate for our rooms.

The daily rate is flexible and may change depending on availability, and may also be affected by local events. When you book a rate, this is secured and will not change unless you make any amendments outside of your restrictions.

All bedrooms at Future Inn Plymouth can sleep up to four guests. Room rates are based on two sharing, and additional guests are an additional £20 each. Under 12’s stay free of charge. 

The minimum age for booking a hotel room is age 18. Younger guests are welcome to stay as long as there is an adult in the room.

Travel cots can be provided. Please write this as a note if you book online, or email reservations.plymouth@futureinns.co.uk with your booking reference number.

More than one room can be booked at a time. These can be for the same dates for additional guests or additional future dates. Pre-booking is highly recommended to guarantee a reservation. However, we do accept walk-in bookings. These are subject to availability and must be paid in full before checking in. 

The hotel has a restaurant, bar, free car parking, laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer, small exercise room, ice machine, bike rack and bike storage, as well as conference and event facilities.  

You can make a request for a particular room or floor. Unfortunately, this can not be guaranteed, but we will do our best to make sure it happens. 

Fishbone Bar and Restaurant is on-site, and open daily for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, evening a-la-carte and traditional lunches on Sunday. Serving British cuisine and fresh fish dishes, all are homemade on-site using local ingredients and produce. The bar serves alcoholic and soft drinks throughout the day.

Future Inn Plymouth to Derriford Hospital is 1.6 miles (2.57km).

It takes 8-10 minutes to drive. Alternatively, it is a 4-minute walk to Tavistock Road, where you can get a bus for one stop. Or walking takes 15-minutes. 

Future Club Rewards FAQ's 

To reward our loyal customers, Future Inns UK offers guests the opportunity to collect points and win prizes. The more points you earn the better the prize.  For every £1 you spend on accommodation, in the bar or restaurant you earn 1 reward point. Benefits include complimentary drinks vouchers and access to exclusive members-only promotions and for every 400 points you earn, you can claim a complimentary room upgrade. Find out more here.

When you join the Future Club Rewards Program, you will be given a personal membership account which you can access online and check the number of points you have accumulated. 

The rules are simple. For every £1 you spend on accommodation and in the bar and restaurant, you will earn 1 reward point on your personal Future Club Rewards membership account. Whether you are staying with Future Inns on business or leisure, you can choose one of the generous rewards once you have accumulated enough points.

You do need to set up an account to access the benefits. This is our way of making sure the points are properly counted. It is easy to set up and free to join.

For every £1 you spend on accommodation and in the bar and restaurant, you will earn 1 reward point on your personal Future Club Rewards membership account. Fishbone Restaurant FAQ's

Some of our overnight stays include a full English buffet breakfast.  For those who do not have it included, you can add this to your booking at any time for £14 per person.  Please note, if you do not pre-book your breakfast and decide to dine on the day the charge is £16 per person.  Children under 12 years of age can add breakfast for £7 per child and £8 on the day, and for under 5’s, this is complimentary. 

Some of our overnight packages include an evening meal. However, Fishbone Restaurant is open until 10pm every day (9.30pm on Sundays) and serves breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, a la carte evening meals and traditional roasts on Sunday.

If you do have a food allergy or intolerance, please let your server know before ordering. Although we take extra precautions when advised of an allergen or intolerance, we cannot guarantee that our menu items are 100% free from all allergens due to the risk of cross-contamination in the preparation process. 

Children are more than welcome in Fishbone Restaurant. Under 5's can dine with us for free, with a paying adult.

All afternoon tea bookings require a £5 per person deposit, which is deducted from your bill on the day. Large tables may also be asked for a deposit to guarantee the table for you. 

Fishbone Bar and Restaurant is our open-plan restaurant, found on the ground floor, so no ramps or alternative routes are needed. There is booth seating and tables where a chair can be easily removed for a wheelchair. Free parking and blue badge parking can be found directly in front of the restaurant. Admittedly there is no disabled toilet in the restaurant; however, there is one in the conference corridor next to the other bathrooms. This is a short distance away.  

There are no time limits for our table sittings. In busy times, this may be the case, but you will be told at the time of booking. 

Yes, Fishbone Restaurant has high chairs. 

There is no formal dress code in Fishbone Bar and Restaurant. Most guests who attend are in smart casual attire.

Conferences and Events FAQ's

We do! We have facilities to support a host of different events, from business meetings to baby showers. Visit our events page to find out more. 

At Christmas, we host a full schedule of events to help you celebrate. We can also help organise your private Christmas party.

Please be aware that at certain times throughout the year our hotel may host weddings, events and private parties. Please contact the Hotel directly in advance of your stay for further information.

With 8 conference and event rooms we can host, business meetings, networking, training days, corporate events, seminars, workshops, award dinners, charity fundraisers, interviews, exhibitions as well as birthday parties, anniversary dinners, baby showers, engagement parties, wedding breakfasts and receptions, school proms, christenings or naming days, a celebration of life and sports dinners.

All of our meeting rooms are on the ground floor and include free Wi-Fi, data projection or flat screen TV, flipchart and pens, temperature control and blackout facilities, and ample free parking. Rooms can be booked for room hire only, half or day delegate packages or overnight residential packages.

In some instances, we will require a pre-order. It is essential that any dietary requirements and medical allergies are provided to us before your arrival.

Although we take extra precautions when advised of an allergen or intolerance, we cannot guarantee that our menu items are 100% free from all allergens due to the risk of cross-contamination in the preparation process. 

Guests are requested to conduct themselves appropriately at all times. Guests are requested not to disrupt the comfort and enjoyment of other guests, the smooth running of the hotel, or cause offence to other guests or our members of staff.  We reserve the right to refuse accommodation or services or remove you and members of your party from the hotel if, in our reasonable opinion, we consider this provision has been breached. Where this is the case shall have no obligation to refund you for lost accommodation, other services or any other loss or expense incurred.

Day delegate and residential packages are available for meetings and conferences. Packages and build your own menus are also available for other types of events.

Delegate packages start from £26 per person and include room hire. Whereas catering packages start from £14 per person. Depending on which room you would like to hire and for how long, prices start from £200.

Yes, meeting rooms can be booked for multiple days. We’ll just need to double-check availability.

At the moment, Future Club Rewards is not extended to conference and event bookings. 

Wedding FAQ's

With us, as far as you like. However, Plymouth Registry Office will have their own calendar to make sure they have the date, time and availability for the celebrants. 

If you want to get married at Future Inns, this will depend on the availability of celebrants at Plymouth Registry Office. If our wedding and event spaces are available, we can do short notice.

Payments can be made by credit or debit card (excluding American Express) or bank transfer. All payments are to be made in advance of the booking date. 

A £500 deposit is required to secure the wedding date along with your signed contract. Please note, that we recommend checking with Plymouth Registry Office availability beforehand.

A further £500 is to be paid 6 months before the wedding day, and the final balance cleared 4-6 weeks prior to the wedding date. 

The responsibility to book the Registrar is with the couple getting married. For weddings at Future Inns, this is with Plymouth Registry Office. 

This is not an option we provide. However, we are happy to make recommendations.

The ceremony time will need to be confirmed with Plymouth Registry Office. We recommend between 1-3pm, however, this is entirely up to you. The Reception is usually held 2-3 hours afterwards to give you time for photographs and to mingle with your guests. 

Future Inn Plymouth is licensed for weddings indoors. However, there is an outside area – in front of Fishbone Restaurant - for all guests to use. 

Typically, after the ceremony has finished you and your guests will have photographs taken. There is then time for refreshments. During this time, our wedding team and any suppliers you have booked will change the event space around ready for everyone to sit down for a meal. If you are having additional evening guests, there may be an additional need to change the room around and for entertainment to set up. 

Wedding guests should RSVP via the couple getting married, rather than the venue. 

The wedding team at Future Inns will have a meeting with the couple 6-8 weeks before the big day to discuss the finer details. Here is where we will confirm final numbers, and talk about suppliers coming onto the site and their timings, plus menus and dietary requirements.

We can help you set up a camera or laptop so guests can log on and view your wedding virtually.

We know that the catering at your wedding is important. All of our food is homemade on-site by our talented chefs, using some of the finest local produce and ingredients. There are a range of menus for you to choose from, or if you would like to build your own, we can cost this appropriately for you.

It is best to put all dietary requirements in writing to us and make it easy to identify that person on the day. 

If you wish to have an open bar, this is something that can be arranged. Drinks packages are also available. 

Wedding cars can stop directly outside the hotel reception doors. 

If you wish to get ready at Future Inns, we recommend booking a bedroom for the night before. Alternatively, we can arrange one of our meeting rooms to be used, for an additional cost.

The wedding suites are private. You may encounter other guests in common areas of the hotel such as the restaurant bar and bathrooms. 

We are happy to work with other wedding suppliers or have recommendations for you. These are to be arranged by yourself.

Unfortunately, we do not allow outside catering. Apart from a wedding cake and favours. 

A corkage charge per bottle will be in place if you want to bring your own alcohol. 

That sounds exciting. As long as we have enough space for them and your suppliers have full liability insurance this is possible. 

The bar is open until 12pm Sunday to Thursday and until 1am Friday and Saturday.

Book your wedding breakfast and evening buffet with us and our King Suite is complimentary for the happy couple on the night of the wedding. Special bed and breakfast accommodation rates can be offered for those who want to stay overnight.  

This is something that can be arranged. There will be an additional room hire charge.

We have had external companies host wedding fayres at Future Inns, and occasionally we will hold a showcase evening. Please speak to the Wedding Team to ask if there is anything coming up.

There are 172 parking spaces at Future Inns, including spaces for blue badge holders and 3 coach bays. Parking is free for all guests. Car registration details need to be input into one of the consoles in Reception on in Fishbone Restaurant or a parking charge notice will be issued.
