Croeso & Welcome to Thomas Restaurant | The home of Welsh Cuisine

A Taste of Wales

The welcoming, cosy restaurant in the heart of Cardiff Bay is open to the public as well as hotel residents for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea, evening a-la-carte dining and traditional roasts on Sundays.

Thomas Restaurant is located in Future Inn Cardiff and serves British food, as well as contemporary and traditional Welsh cuisine. We pride ourselves on providing the best, mouth-watering dishes using fresh local ingredients. All of our dishes are homemade on-site. We use local and fresh produce to give you a true Taste of Wales. Our food is presented in an informal relaxed manner and is served all day, every day.

The restaurant has gained an excellent reputation and is the perfect setting for a family celebration, a catch-up with friends, a client meeting or an intimate dinner for two. As the official partner for the Wales Millennium Centre, be sure to check out our pre-theatre dining packages.

Family friendly restaurants Cardiff

Children are more than welcome in Thomas Restaurant. A children's menu is available daily, which offers a main, dessert and drink for £8.50. It is ideal for under 12's. Under 5's can eat for free with a paying adult.

The children’s menu has something for foodie kids or those who may be a bit fussier, and they always ensure that there is one of the ‘five a day’ on the plate. If you are letting them have a sweet treat, too, options include a brownie, churros or ice cream.  All washed down with bottomless squash, or you can have juice, milk or water.

Disabled access

The open-plan restaurant is found on the ground floor, so no ramps or alternative routes are needed. There is booth seating and tables where a chair can be easily removed for a wheelchair.

Free parking and blue badge parking can be found directly in front of the restaurant.

Admittedly, there is no disabled toilet in the restaurant; however, there is one in the conference corridor next to the other bathrooms. This is a short distance away.

Be sure to check out our accessible guide to the hotel and restaurant.
