Plymouth – There are 6 months until Christmas
There may be some who will read this thinking that it is too early, but the countdown to the most wonderful time of the year has started. It is the time of the year we make time for family, catch up with friends and celebrate with colleagues.
With 6 months until the big day, it is time to start to save for gifts and plan the festivities.
Now is the time to start making a list for friends and family. You will also need to start dropping hints, so you do not end up with a last-minute pair of socks (unless that is what you want, of course). Throughout the year, we sell gift vouchers on our website for treats that could include a Sunday Lunch, Overnight Stays, Dining Experiences in Fishbone Restaurant or monetary amounts.
Of course, you could also check into the hotel and stay for a night or two while you visit the popular Plymouth Christmas Markets with over 60 log cabins and other seasonal stalls, festooned with fairy lights, selling everything from handmade jewellery and clothing, to artwork and homewares. You can even pick up a real Christmas tree!
Most people say it does not feel like Christmas until the office party takes place. Every Friday and Saturday in December we have a different artist for your entertainment. At the Christmas Party Nights, pull a traditional cracker before enjoying a festive 3-course meal, followed by a freshly brewed tea or coffee. Step onto the dancefloor with entertainment from the tribute entertainer of the evening who include Tina Turner, Michael Buble and Robbie Williams, followed by our resident party DJ who will be playing Christmas classics and dancefloor fillers.
A festive lunch or dinner can be booked in Fishbone Restaurant. These are ideal for celebrating with friends, family or colleagues. Children are more than welcome to join you too. As always, the food is homemade on site using fresh and local ingredients. Lunch is served between 12pm-5pm and dinner from 5pm-9.30pm.
Spend Christmas Day with us! If the thought of basting turkeys and boiling sprouts is not for you, then join us at one of our most popular events. At 1pm on Christmas Day in Fishbone Restaurant, the team are serving a 5-course festive meal, ideal for satisfying all of the family. Sshhhh! Don't tell anyone, but Santa will also be with us on the day too – but that's our little secret!
As the main course is the star of the show, you can choose a traditional roast turkey wrapped in bacon with sage and onion stuffing, pigs in blankets with a rich red wine jus, or braised shoulder and rack of lamb, fondant potato and rosemary jus. Other options include a salmon coulibiac, crushed new potatoes and a white wine sauce or a goat’s cheese, leek and walnut tart with charred chicory.
