Families are more than welcome in Fishbone Bar and Restaurant

We know that the school holidays can be a whirlwind trying to keep the kids entertained, organising childcare and days out all of which make life pretty hectic and more expensive than usual.  When out and about, or after a long day, you may not feel like cooking, hang up the towel, put away the oven gloves and escape the heat of the kitchen.

Can we have ice-cream?

The children’s menu has something for foodie kids or those who may be a bit fussier, and they always ensure that there is one of the ‘five a day’ on the plate.  Savoury choices include chicken or beef burger, roast chicken, fish fingers, chicken nuggets or even an omelette.  If you are letting them have a sweet treat too, options include chocolate cake, ice cream or a sticky toffee pudding.  All washed down with bottomless squash, or you can have juice, milk, water or a fizzy drink.  Plus, you can keep them occupied.  What can be more fun than colouring in your menu?!

What’s on the menu for adults?

The lunch menu offers a selection of sandwiches and salads as well as heartier dishes including a pizza, fish and pasta.  Whereas the evening menu offers an a-la-carte dining experience with signature dishes including locally caught fish dishes, traditional dishes, grills and steak.  There is a whole selection of starters, side dishes and heavenly desserts to explore too.

There are plenty of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.  From a lighter bite of a Greek salad; feta cheese, vine cherry tomatoes, cucumber, red onion, black olives, green peppers, oregano, lemon and extra virgin olive oil dressing served with warm focaccia bread or a filling stir-fried Thai noodles; with vegetables in a Thai sauce with sesame oil, garlic, ginger, fresh lime, soy sauce and red chilli.  The biggest hit this summer has been the Triple chocolate mousse cake; served with vanilla ice cream, peanut butter biscuit crumb and raspberry coulis.

Afternoon Tea with Mini-Me

Under 12’s can also enjoy Afternoon Tea for free with a paying adult this summer too.  The afternoon tea is homemade and uses local products and ingredients.  With finger sandwiches, handmade scones and a homemade cake selection, it is definitely something to enjoy together.  It also comes with unlimited tea or coffee, and children can choose to have squash, a fizzy drink or a hot chocolate instead.  Plus, it is only £12 per person.  Pre-booking is essential, as they are made to order.
