It’s English Tourism Week

English Tourism Week in association with Visit England is a celebration taking place between 30th March and 7th April in 2019. It aims to raise the profile of exploring different parts of the country, and the hospitality and tourism industry.

English Tourism Week

Includes hotels, restaurants, local food and drink, visitor attractions and activities. The campaign is run in association with Visit England and the businesses who make the industry the success that it is – including us as an accommodation provider.

Tourism in England

The English tourism sector touches everyone – visitors, residents, businesses and employees.  It is one of the few sectors active in every part of the country.  It is the third largest employer and every day supports 2.6 million jobs and is a major employer of school leavers and young people and an incubator for entrepreneurs.

The visitor economy is worth £106 billion a year to England supporting thousands of businesses and impacting on the performance of supplier industries such as restaurants, farming, sport, retail and the theatre.

Tourism happens here!

Many people think tourism is going on holiday or travelling for a staycation away from home, meaning we often overlook what is on our doorstep.  Local tourism is just as important.  When did you last visit a popular attraction nearby?

Use this week to plan your next adventure.  We have lots of ideas on what to do when Exploring Plymouth or when Visiting Bristol
