It is Wales Tourism Week!

The Wales Tourism Week 2019 takes place from 11th May to 19th May 2019. This year’s theme is ‘Strength through Partnership’. Co-ordinated by the Wales Tourism Alliance, the voice of the tourism industry in Wales, the week aims to drive the sector up the political agenda.

Wales Tourism Week

Wales Tourism Week is co-ordinated by the Wales Tourism Alliance (WTA) and designed to be a ‘celebration of the country’s tourism industry’. The week aims to raise the industry’s profile and highlight its vast revenue generating value and the job and career opportunities including hotels, restaurants, local food and drink, visitor attractions and activities.

The WTA, along with its partners, calls on tourism organisations and businesses across the country to organise events during the week that promote the value of partnership and raise awareness of the industry’s importance to the Welsh economy.

More than 20 events are being planned to celebrate Wales Tourism Week 2019 which begins on Saturday 11th May. The cornerstone launch event will be the Wales Tourism Week 2019 evening reception at the Senedd in Cardiff Bay on the 14th May. The event will be hosted by Suzy Davies, AM, chair of the National Assembly for Wales’ Tourism Cross Party Group.

Tourism happens here!

Many people think tourism is going on holiday or travelling for a staycation away from home, meaning we often overlook what is on our doorstep.  Local tourism is just as important.  When did you last visit a famous attraction nearby?

Use this week to plan your next adventure.  We have lots of ideas on what to do when Exploring Cardiff with plenty of Local Events too.

Family Breaks in Cardiff Bay

Cardiff is an excellent destination for a family break, with city centre attractions plus fresh air and many open spaces to explore. Cardiff is one of the flattest cities in the UK so ideal for hiring a bike and cycling on the nearby Bay Trail, with art and heritage exhibitions along the way, as well as cafes and ice cream parlours too. Popular attractions include Techniquest the interactive science centre, ice skating in the Ice Arena Wales or swimming at the Cardiff International Pool.

Plan your next great adventure at Future Inn Cardiff.  On our family breaks children stay for free, with under 5’s getting a free breakfast and only £6 for under 12’s to have breakfast.  Remember, to book direct for the best available rate, or contact the Reservations Team on 02920 487111 or reservations.cardiff@futureinns.co.uk
