Future Inn Cardiff Celebrates 10 Years in the Welsh Capital

Future Inn Cardiff, part of Future Inns UK Group celebrates its 10th anniversary with a celebratory wine tasting event at Thomas Bar & Restaurant, between 4pm - 6pm, on 30th April 2015.

The event celebrates a decade since the Canadian entrepreneur's Bruce and Del Brett established the very first UK based Future Inns hotel in the Welsh capital, officially opened by HRH Prince Andrew. Following on from the success of its flagship hotel in Cardiff, the Future Inns brand has now expanded, with hotels in Bristol and Plymouth.

As part of the celebrations, Future Inn Cardiff will plant a maple tree, a well-known Canadian symbol nationally and internationally, at the entrance of the hotel.

Del Brett, Managing Director of Future Inns said: “It has been a rewarding 10 years during which Future Inn Cardiff has developed and evolved to become a favourite destination hotel for visitors from both inside and outside of Wales.

“We chose Cardiff from a selection of 9 cities throughout the UK. It has been a real pleasure growing a business in a vibrant, cultural city that now hosts many prestigious, high profile events from which we inevitably benefit.

“Throughout the years we have also forged several wonderful partnerships with organisations and businesses such as the Wales Millennium Centre and Cardiff White Water Rafting.

“What better way to celebrate with our business colleagues with whom we have worked with over the years than with a fine wine tasting event kindly supported by one of our partners, Cardiff based Fine Wines Direct UK.”

The hotel highlights over the past decade include:

* Several Olympic teams stayed at the hotel during the 2012 London Olympics training camps

* In 2010 Future Inns ran a successful Hotel Apprentice competition with prizes that included a month-long management apprenticeship at the hotel chain, mentoring sessions, £500 cash and a laptop

* Sponsoring of the Brecon Jazz Festival in August 2008 including a guest the English jazz bassist and composer, Alec Dunkworth.

* In 2005 the hotel welcomed the Kirov Ballet to their first-ever visit to Wales and ballet at the Wales Millennium Centre, performing Don Quixote. Future Inns has remained a sponsor of the WMC and worked closely with that organisation continuously since then, hosting many more performers and guests of the prestigious performing arts centre.

The Cardiff hotel has 197, spacious, air-conditioned, en-suite bedrooms, equipped with modern amenities. The Thomas Bar & Restaurant serves traditional British dishes with a contemporary Welsh twist, using locally sourced and fresh ingredients. Free car parking and free Wi-Fi are available for all Future Inns guests.
