Christmas is one of the best times of the year. It is the perfect opportunity to spend time with family or catch up with friends and colleagues. With 6 months until the big day, it is the time of year most start to save for gifts and the festivities.
The Grinch's out there will be shaking their heads and moaning that it is too early, but the countdown to the most wonderful time of the year has started.
Now is the time to start making a list for friends and family. You will also need to start dropping hints, so you do not end up with a last-minute pair of socks (unless that is what you want, of course). Throughout the year, we sell gift vouchers on our website for treats that could include a Taste of Wales Afternoon Tea, Sunday Lunch, Overnight Stays, Dining Experiences in Thomas Restaurant or monetary amounts.
Of course, you could also check into the hotel and stay for a night or two while you visit the popular Cardiff Christmas Markets or the Winter Wonderland.
Most people say it does not feel like Christmas until the office party takes place. Every Friday and Saturday in December a party night is hosted with a 3-course festive dinner, followed by freshly brewed tea or coffee and entertainment. Choose from;
If you are looking something fun, but a bit different the silent disco is definitely it. After dinner, you will receive a set of headphones, but not a regular set, these have 3 different channels. At a flick of a switch, you will be able to change from listening to the resident party DJ who is in the room, retro favourites or Christmas classics.
If a traditional Christmas is more your thing, then at the Retro Party Night you will enjoy the best sounds of the '80's, '90's and '00's throughout the evening. The perfect opportunity to show off your best dance moves!
Grab the group or come with your partner for an afternoon of entertainment. With arrival from 12pm, enjoy a festive 2-course lunch with a glass of wine. Then it will be eyes down for some bingo and the party resident DJ for some dancing.
Every child deserves to feel the magic of Christmas. With this in mind, our friend Father Christmas is coming to visit. Put on your Christmas jumper and spend some time with the family with a 3-course meal followed by a family disco as well as a visit to see Santa in his grotto. Like with all of our menus, under '5's can attend free of charge.
A festive lunch or dinner can be booked in Thomas Restaurant. These are ideal for celebrating with friends, family or colleagues. Children are more than welcome to join you too. As always, the food is homemade on site using fresh and local ingredients. Lunch is served between 12pm-5pm and dinner from 5pm-10pm (9.30pm on Sundays).
Our contemporary Taste of Wales Afternoon Tea will take on a festive twist during December, with delicate finger sandwiches, handmade scones and homemade cakes, with unlimited freshly brewed tea or coffee. As Christmas is for celebrating, add on a glass of prosecco, cocktails or a mulled wine or two.
Spend Christmas Day with us! If the thought of basting turkeys and boiling sprouts is not for you, then join us at one of our most popular events. At 1pm on Christmas Day in Thomas Restaurant, the team are serving a 5-course festive meal, ideal for satisfying all of the family.
As the main course is the star of the show, you can choose a traditional roast turkey wrapped in bacon with sage and onion stuffing, pigs in blankets with a rich red wine jus, or braised shoulder and rack of lamb, fondant potato and rosemary jus. Other options include a salmon coulibiac, crushed new potatoes and a white wine sauce or a goat’s cheese, leek and walnut tart with charred chicory.
