The South West's BEST Anime, Manga and POP-Culture event is back!  This time, for a two-day, action-packed, non-stop weekend convention at Future Inn Plymouth.  Animangapop is one of the largest selections of Japanese POP-Culture traders, artists and performers under one roof. 

The sell-out event is taking place on Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th February 2019 at Future Inn Plymouth.  Animangapop – The South Wests longest running Anime convention will have a lot of exciting things to see, do, experience, shop, watch and interact with.  Over the weekend there is a diverse programme of panels and talks on fashion, cosplay, small press and the industry in general – with a special guest to two as well.  Gamers can take part in some challenges with competitions and tournaments over the weekend too. 

Beginning with Otogi Calendar and Astro Boy in the 1960’s, Anime has grown from obscure cartoons, rarely seen outside Japan to a multi-million-pound industry with a global following. Ranging from love stories to horror stories, children’s tales to futuristic visions of Neo-Tokyo and more adult-themed productions, Anime has a fan base which stretches across all ages, races and continents.

The convention has been growing rapidly since its creation by two friends in Plymouth, Mike Allwood and Mark Bayliss, in 2012.  This year is the first time the event has been held over a weekend, rather than a one-day convention.
