Cancer Research Wales

Future Inn Cardiff is proud to help raise awareness for Cancer Research Wales and support their fundraising efforts

About Cancer Research Wales

Cancer Research Wales funds cutting edge research in Wales into the early diagnosis, better treatment and preventatives of cancer. It is world-leading, it is local, and gives hope to cancer patients and their families.

Every donation they receive goes directly to their teams of leading scientists based here in Wales. It funds their work, helping them in the pursuit of a cure; making great discoveries in the areas of early diagnosis, better treatments and preventatives of cancer for the benefit of cancer patients globally.

The research is undertaken in the universities and hospitals throughout the nation and covers many cancer sites that include cancers of the prostate, colon, breast, kidney, blood (leukaemia), cervix and oesophagus.

As well as focusing on site-specific cancers the Cancer Research Wales research portfolio is rich in studies that seek to better understand the fundamental processes of cancer biology that are common to all cancers, such as uncontrolled cell growth, invasion and spread, resistance to chemo- and radiotherapies and immune evasion.
