This May Day 2018 bank holiday weekend there is so much going on in Bristol that we’re spoilt for choice. To help you decide on what to do, we have compiled a list of some of our top picks taking place in the city as we finally reach May & summer is around the corner.  


Fish & Chip Trip on the Matthew

5th May 2018 – 5pm

Explore Bristol’s historic harbour in leisure as you sit back & relax on the Matthew cruise. If that isn’t enough, the crew will be delivering freshly cooked fish and chips to you on deck as the ship moors up at The Pumphouse.

 

Funland at The Tropicana

5th May – 6th May 2018 12.00pm

Weston's only outdoor theme park on the Seafront in the iconic Tropicana.
The theme park promises fun for all the family throughout the bank holiday weekend.

 

Glos Road Central Mayfest

Join in with the May madness inspired by the traditions and legends that surround this special time of year. May Day has heralded the start of summer for many hundreds of years. It’s time for the Green Man to wake up from his winter sleep as the buds burst and life returns to the woods and fields. The procession will pass by Glos Rd Central at around 3.30pm on the way to Horfield Common when they enact a ritual to release the spirit of summer. Why not take part & enjoy the live music, food and drink?

 

Murder Mystery Supper at Bristol Hippodrome

4th May – 7th May 2018, 7.30pm

Why not experience the Bristol Hippodrome like never before, with their Murder Mystery Supper? There will be Five professional actors who will entice you with clues, rumours and gossip throughout the night to keep you guessing and wondering who the killer is.

You will firstly meet at the Piano Bar, where you will mingle with the cast as they introduce themselves and ‘set the scene’. Enjoy the live music before sitting down to a delicious three-course meal as the murder mystery unravels.

 

Inn on the Green's 14th Annual Beer Festival

5th May – 6th May 2018, £12

The Inn on the Green’s beer festival will be offering 50 beers and 15 ciders for you to try alongside a host of live bands from Crinkle Cuts, The Imprints, Mr Tea and the Minions, Guy Calhoun, Frank Nomad and Ben Harrison. You can also enjoy the outdoor games on offer, such as ping pong & pool.
