ROMANTIC THINGS TO DO IN BRISTOL THIS FEBRUARY
Are you looking to spend some romantic, quality time with your partner this Valentine's Day or perhaps you'd like to arrange a couple of dates in the lead up to the special day? If so, Bristol is an excellent place to visit.
Start the date with a visit to the Arnolfin where you can experience contemporary arts, such as live performances, music, dances, film and more. Most of the exhibitions and events are free. Nearby is the SS Great Britain museum and Banksy’s The Girl with Pierced Eardumpiece. Further west is Spike Island, which is a great hub for local artists. There’s also a gallery and cafe there, with continuously changing exhibitions.

There are a few studios offering graffiti workshops, usually lasting for a few hours. Learn how to make your own tag, or even better yet, a collaborative tag with your date.

Explore the castle which isn’t really a castle, but it sits in a meadow surrounded by the woods of the Blaise Castle Estate. Also on the estate is the Blaise Castle House, a small museum. You can visit both for free & they are only a 30 minute bus journey from College Green. The walk in between the castle and house takes you on a magical, romantic hike through the woods.
You can taste local goodies at The St. Nicolas Markets, as well as, global cuisines. Other than the food, you can also find odd bits & bobs and vintage clothes from regular sellers.

You can take a leisurely walk through the Downs and end up at the Observatory. Be sure, to bring your favourite nibbles & perhaps a bottle of something special and head on down to the Giant’s Cave. It makes for a great private place for a picnic with an amazing view of the Avon Gorge and the bridge. We recommend bringing a blanket to sit on as it's only rock & dust.
