Visit for a family breakfast, time with friends for lunch or afternoon tea, or a romantic evening
It’s a conversation many of us have savoured during lockdown: where are we going to tea, and what are we going to eat when restaurants eventually open their doors? The date has finally arrived, and you can dine with us at Thomas Restaurant in Cardiff Bay.
Join us for dinner on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday and get 50% discount on food and non-alcoholic drinks up to £10 per person.
All food and drink will be ordered at your table. Our traditional Welsh food and British favourites include a delicious variety of starters, mains and desserts.
Take advantage of our free parking too.

Running between 3rd August and 31st August 2020, you can get 50% off your food and non-alcoholic drinks bill when visiting a participating restaurant. The Eat Out to Help Out idea has been implemented by the government to encourage us to support our local businesses and reduce redundancies after such a long closure.
There have been a few changes to the restaurant. Some tables and chairs have been removed to make more space. Alongside this, there are disposable menus and regular cleaning of commonly touched surfaces and toilet facilities. An anti-bacterial gel is also available at various stations. Thomas Restaurant also has a 5* food hygiene rating.
Unfortunately, there will be no more propping up the bar or ordering at the till; instead, only table service will be permitted. Our wait staff will take all food and drink orders at your table, and will bring them to you.
We will automatically take the 50% off your bill (up to £10 per person), and any outstanding balance can be settled by yourself. Contactless payment is encouraged, but we also except chip and pin and cash.
Unfortunately, due to government guidelines we can not have a table booking for more than 6 people. This figure also includes children and infants, so please take this into consideration when booking. It is also not possible to move or push two tables together.
The Eat Out to Help Out Scheme is voucherless, so no, you don't need to bring one with you. Simply make a restaurant reservation on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday and the 50% off will be taken off your final bill by us.
Thomas Restaurant is situated in a quieter part of Cardiff Bay, meaning there are fewer crowds. The large car park is free of charge for those eating with us. It is also less than a 5-minute walk from Cardiff Bay train station and various buses stop outside County Hall, across the road from us. Directions and car parking information can be seen here.
Absolutely, you're more than welcome to. We are a cycle-friendly restaurant with a large bike rack outside of Thomas Restaurant. We are just off the Cardiff Bay Trail, a 10km circular route, and it is easy to access the Taff Trail too.
Thomas Restaurant does have limited outdoor seating. You can not pre-book to sit outside, however, if the weather is agreeable, you are more than welcome to eat outside.
If you are staying at our Cardiff hotel, and do not wish to eat in the restaurant, you can order room service. You will find a menu and how to order in your hotel room. The food will then be brought to your bedroom. Unfortunately, it would be charged at the full price, as room service is not covered by the scheme.
The scheme discount is only available to food and drink sold for immediate consumption on the premises. This does not include food and drink that is sold as part of a wider accommodation service. This includes our bed and breakfast packages.
The discount will only be applied when dining on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday between 3-31st August 2020. You do not need a voucher or discount code. There are no limits to how many times you can dine.
Please let us know if you are not able to make your restaurant booking.
A 'no show' is when people book a table but then don't turn up without letting the restaurant know in advance. It has been a problem in the hospitality industry for some time, with an estimated 25% of bookings simply not turning up.
Now more than ever restaurants need your support.
We understand that circumstances change. If you need to cancel, change the number of people, the time or date, feel free to call, email or amend your online booking.
