Westlife at Home Park, Plymouth Argyle Football Stadium

The boys are back and are heading to the Cardiff City Stadium on 26th June 2020

Kian Egan, Nicky Byrne, Mark Feehily and Shane Filan will play at The Theatre of Greens, Plymouth Argyle Football Club this summer. The band made the announcement that they are getting back together for a tour last year. The reunion, which marked the 20th anniversary of the band starting in 1998, does not include former member Brian McFadden, who left Westlife in 2004.

The tour announcement comes on the back of the success of Westlife’s comeback and now the band is preparing to release a new album Spectrum in November 2019. Their last album was released in 2010 and was called Gravity. Fans are hoping they will sing some of their biggest hits including Flying Without Wings, If I Let You Go, Uptown Girl, Fool Again and their first hit Swear It All Over Again.

“The reaction to our comeback tour was beyond anything any of us ever imagined so we’re going to do it all over again but this time in some of the largest outdoor venues in the UK. The shows are going to be incredible and will include all our greatest hits. We can’t wait to perform at Home” say the band.

Westlife first broke into the charts with their debut single Swear It Again. Released in April 1999, the song peaked at No.1 on the Official UK Singles Chart where it remained for two weeks. The track was the first single to be taken from the boys’ debut album Westlife. In total, five singles from the debut topped the chart in the UK – Swear It Again, If I Let You Go, Flying Without Wings, the double A-side I Have a Dream/Seasons in the Sun and Fool Again.

A phenomenal chart success, Westlife went on to release ten studio albums throughout their career, all of which charted within the top five of the Official UK Albums Chart and six of which peaked at No.1.  In total, the band have released 14 chart-topping singles, including My Love, World of Our Own, Unbreakable, You Raise Me Up and the hugely successful cover version of the Billy Joel song Uptown Girl.

Speaking about the Stadiums in the Summer Tour coming to Home Park, Plymouth Argyle Chief Executive Andrew Parkinson said: “We are thrilled that Westlife are making a triumphant return to Home Park after their memorable concert in 2008. It is a pleasure for us to be hosting the eagerly-anticipated show by one of the most successful groups of all time in the UK as part of the city of Plymouth’s Mayflower 400 celebrations."
