The West End Carnival in Plymouth is a vibrant celebration of culture, community, and creativity. It brings together locals and visitors for an unforgettable day of festivities. It is held annually in the heart of Plymouth's unique independent quarter.
The free event is open to everyone and will see local businesses get involved and put on free tasters and demonstrations, along with other activities, including music, children’s entertainers, face painting and dance, in Cornwall Street, New George Street, Frankfort Gate, and Market Avenue. The West End is full of amazing independent shops and restaurants, including Plymouth Market, which accommodates more than 140 stalls, eateries and cafes.
The highlight of the West End Carnival is undoubtedly the spectacular carnival parade that winds through the streets. Expect an explosion of colour as beautifully crafted floats, baby dragons, community groups, and performers of all ages dance their way through the city.
Enjoy various live performances from local musicians, dancers, and street performers throughout the day. The main stage at Frankfort Gate will host musical performances and circus performers. It's a packed day of family-friendly fun.
