George, the Polar Bear cub wants you to follow the Polar Bear Explorer trail this winter.

Polar Bear Explorer in Plymouth

From 5th to 23rd December 2020

Follow the Polar Bear Explorer trail this winter when it returns to Plymouth for 2020, and it is ideal for families.

Follow the trail to find the adorable polar bear cubs waiting to be discovered across the waterfront this winter. The bears can be found in businesses around The Barbican, Mount Batten, The Hoe, Royal William Yard and The Box.

Each bear has its own individual style, with nine of them being painted by local schoolchildren; Hyde Park Infant School, Hyde Park Junior School, Elburton Primary School, St Andrews Primary, Glen Park Primary School, Horrabridge Primary School, Pilgrims Primary School, Victoria Road Primary School and Mayflower Community Academy. Four have also been painted by local artists; Loci, Lee J Art, Arth Lawr and Steve Evans.

The trail can be downloaded on the Plymouth Trails app. It is 5 miles long and takes around 2.5 hours. Of course, you don’t have to complete it all in one day. Every child that completes the trail will receive a special badge and sweet treat in the final location. Just take a picture or selfie with each bear as you go along the route.

Plus, there is also a polar bear in the Tourist Information Centre. If you snap a selfie with him, you could win your very own giant cuddly polar bear toy with £200. Share your selfie on Facebook tagging the @ChristmasInPlymouth page, and use the #PolarBearOnAChair hashtag.
