The Wedding Series | Introducing Florist, Lola of Walnut & Willow

Hello my name is Lola. I am both a travelling and studio-based wedding and event florist seeking adventures and meeting new people. I have been dipping my hands into all aspects of art, design, photography and crafts since childhood and I never seem to stop learning and exploring new ways of approaching my creativity.

After studying to gain a Ba (hons) degree in Fine Art, I sought for more challenges and discovered my love for growing plants. I learnt to use my artistic skills to create beautiful arrangements from flowers found 'right on my doorstep', in the heart of the Sussex countryside.

I am a sucker for all things thrifty. When I am not in my busy studio, you can most likely find me trawling through flea markets and salvage yards, looking for hidden treasures to use with my pretty flowers.

Having grown up in the city of Brighton, I seek inspiration from both rural and urban spaces. The beauty of the plants that live around us are celebrated in my work. Where possible and when the weather permits, I love using British grown flowers to support our local growers.

Even when I use faux flowers, they always best reflect the seasons to suit the space or time of year they are needed.

Away from the business, I love travelling further afield to explore other countries and learn about different cultures. With my other-half serving with the military, my life is certainly not dull // moving around the country and meeting new people is always an exciting thing and I love sharing my passion of flowers with everyone I meet.

Thanks, Lola for sharing this with us.
