Fun things to do with Kids in Cardiff

The Wales Millennium Centre 

Located in the heart of Cardiff Bay, the WMC hosts lots of fun and inspiring activities, making it the perfect day out for young children and their families. The centre opens at 10am and is free to visit. You can enjoy the regular performances, tours and even get messy/creative in their workshops.

The Cardiff Story Museum

Let your kids travel back in history and experience The Cardiff Story Museum. They will discover the history of Cardiff through film, photographs, stories and objects, and learn how Cardiff grew from a small market town to the capital city it is today. The museum is free and features numerous interactive galleries and is located in the Old Library building.

Doctor Who Experience

This is a truly unique experience that is not to be missed, you will be transported by the Tardis through space to different time zones in order to help the Doctor with his mission and save him from his enemies. Oh and be prepared to bump into a few scary monsters, including Daleks, Cymbermen and Sontarans….ahhhh

Cardiff Spy Mission Treasure Trail

This trail is a fantastic activity for the whole family. You will be walking around Cardiff Bay, visiting many of the historical sights on the way, in order to collect the answers to the clues. The trail is 2.5 miles long and is a great opportunity to get your kids exercising in the open air.

National Museum

You will not be short of things to do in the National Museum of Cardiff. There’s always plenty to see and do whatever your interests. Personally, we recommend the Evolution of Wales exhibition where you can travel through time and come face to face with the giant Woolly Mammoth and Dinosaurs.

Don’t forget to visit the Clore Discovery Centre where you can inspect historical weapons, dinosaur bones, insects and so much more.

Fun things to do with Kids in Bristol

Bristol Zoo

Set within 12 acres of grounds and beautiful gardens, Bristol Zoo is the perfect adventure for young children. You will come face to face with hundreds of bizarre, cute, and endangered animals from across the globe.   So why not visit the zoo and wave at the family of gorillas, be mesmerised by the colourful, tropical Butterfly Forest or watch as the seals and penguins splash and dive. Laser Fusion

Pirate Pete’s Walking Tour

This is a fantastic activity for the whole family. You will enjoy a walk around the quays of Bristol, discovering the history of the city, including stories about the pirates and swashbucklers of the 17th/18th Centuries.  Oh, and dressing up is encouraged…that means you Dad.

Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery 

You will not be short of things to do in the Bristol City Museum and Art Gallery. There are many rooms to explore, from impressive artwork to the dinosaur section. This experience will leave both you and your kids inspired.  If your child is under 7, we recommend that you visit the ‘under 7s area’ where many a creepy story is told, pots are made and young actors may be born.

Fun things to do with Kids in Plymouth

Dartmoor Zoological Park

Set within 30 acres of beautiful parkland, Dartmoor Zoological Park is the perfect adventure for young children. You will come face to face with Josie the Lion and Ben the Brown Bear, or if you prefer things that come in smaller packages, you could check out the tiny Stick Insects! So why not visit the park and learn more about our interesting planet and how to look after it?
