Pandorica is back! and it's about time

The Dr Who convention returns to Future Inn Bristol this weekend to celebrate the very best of the show, in the fans own unique and individual style.

The Dr Who convention returns to Future Inn Bristol this weekend to celebrate the very best of the show, in the fans own unique and individual style. The BBC keep on bringing Dr Who back to the TV, every time they bring it back people fall in love with the Dr all over again.

So why is Dr Who so popular?

There are very few programs that the family can watch together, and keep them all interested.  Dr Who achieves this as it not only has adventure, but comedy and the pull of nostalgia for those who watched it as a child.

The idea of traveling through time, and space, often get people talking about where they would go and why.  In this modern age of technology who would think a phone box that first appeared on British streets in the 1920’s but phased out in the 1970’s, would still be recognisable today?

The Pandorica convention

The Pandorica event this weekend includes stage talks, exclusive video presentations, commentaries, evening entertainment, the chance to get autographs from some of the stars and creators of the show as well as photo opportunities. Some of the stars attending include Katy Manning who was the third Dr’s companion, Geffrey Beavers who played The Master and Philip Hinchcliffe who was a Series Producer during the 1970’s.

There are a very limited number of tickets available for both Saturday 17th November and Sunday 18th November.  You can find further information on their website (here).

The Future Inn Bristol team are pleased that the convention has returned, and look forward to meeting the guests and attendees over the weekend.

Of course, this is not the only Future Inn hotel that has allegiances to Dr Who.  Future Inn Cardiff is a stone's throw away from the majestic Cardiff Bay area where the Dr Who Experience was housed.  Many of the locations used in the filming can be found nearby as well as the spin-off Torchwood, including Ianto’s shrine and the water tower which is the ‘secret’ entrance into their hub.
