You know who doesn’t get enough recognition? Boyfriends!
There is a Wives Day, Girlfriends Day, Mother’s Day and International Women’s Day, but so few that let you tell him how much you appreciate them. Boyfriend’s Day is celebrated annually on the 3rd of October.
Alright, we know they aren’t always the easiest to get along with, they may not have listened to you – or pretend that they haven’t, leave their dirty socks on the floor and forget to put the dishwasher on, but he is yours. Sometimes, they are deserving of a little attention and recognition of all the things they actually do for you.
Ok, we are going to stick up for them now. It’s not easy being a boyfriend. There is so much that they have to keep in mind, anniversaries, birthdays, holidays, whether to leave the toilet seat up or down – which really is a challenge. Then there are the practical things they do like, carrying the shopping in from the car, helping you set up your latest flat-pack purchase or even removing spiders from the bathroom so you can shower.
National Boyfriend Day is all about the good ones, the romantic boyfriend who surprises you with flowers, the one that isn’t scared to meet your parents and the one that gives you charge of the TV remote so you can watch your favourite programmes.
The best way to celebrate Boyfriend’s Day is to do something together – that way, you get a treat too – as well as thanking him for all the little things he does for you every day, especially the ones that he may not think anything of. Here are some of our ideas:
Take a break from cooking, and having to wash up all the pots and pans and have a romantic dinner for two. What could be better than a dinner expertly made by chefs using local meat, fish and other produce? Our restaurant is low lit in the evening, and if you are lucky, you can watch the sun go down while you enjoy an intimate dinner together.

What can be better than sandwiches, scones and cakes? Washing them down with a cocktail or two of course! Afternoon tea is one of the most popular dining experiences in the UK. Unlike many other establishments, ours is homemade, with the chefs making the scones, macaroons and other cakes. Plus the sandwich fillings are made using local ingredients.
Everyone loves a traditional roast on a Sunday, with crispy roast potatoes, homemade giant Yorkshire puddings and lashings of real gravy. Whether you want a meat selection, vegetarian and vegan, there is always an option for you at Future Inns.
With large beds, luxurious bedding, soft pillows to sink into and a robe and slippers to cuddle up in, and overnight getaway is the ultimate relaxation. You may wish to run yourself a bubble bath, read a few chapters of a book or sit and watch the world go by. You can explore the local area, see a theatre show or shop until you drop.
