Your Future Inn Cardiff is bright with Family Footsteps

On the day, you and your family will meet at Techniquest. At 10.30am you will start to walk the 6km route around Cardiff Bay, mapped out and guided by JT Expeditions and sponsored by Western Power Distribution. The event is for all the family and is pushchair, wheelchair and dog-friendly.

As well as getting your step count in for the day, you will see some of The Bay’s most iconic buildings such as the Wales Millennium Centre, The Pierhead, The Norwegian Church and The Senedd. It will also be fun to spot ducks, swans and Roald Dahl’s enormous crocodile. Just be careful with your snacks, the sassy seagulls like to eat them too. You may even see speedboats, yachts and there is also a shipwreck buried in the sand.

Along the route, there will be a magician, face painters and a balloon artist. Our friends at Costco will also have a refreshment stand so you can rehydrate and grab a quick snack before completing the walk.

When you see Future Inn Cardiff, you know the finish line is in sight. We are the last stop on the route, and when you get here, you can enjoy freshly brewed tea or coffee, or soft drinks in Thomas Bar & Restaurant. We may even throw in a Welsh cake or two. 

Family treat at the finish line

As you are expected back at lunchtime, why not treat the family to a homemade Sunday Roast? With crispy roast potatoes, giant Yorkshire puddings and a rich gravy, it would be rude not too. For three courses it is £15.95 per person and under 5’s eat for free. Plus, with your Family Footsteps t-shirts, you get a further 10% off.

The Cancer Research Wales team do require you to register your participation. It is £10 per adult and £6 per child. Included in this cost is your branded t-shirt, entertainment, goody bag and refreshments. 

Participating adults are encouraged to raise a minimum of £50 in sponsorship, with the help of the children too. The sponsorship money will go towards Cancer Research Wales projects, continuing to save lives and fund world-class cancer research. All of the money raised will be spent here in Wales.
