Enjoy Cardiff’s nightlife safely

Cardiff is known for its diverse nightlife; there are so many things to do. Even now, after lockdown has ended, there are many safe and social distancing friendly things to keep you entertained. Find out what’s on in Cardiff.

You will be surprised by how many different things you can do in Cardiff in the evening. Whether you are visiting Cardiff for a staycation, or you’re a local looking to get out and have some fun, there are lots of options to choose from.

Street Food Social

Held at Depot, Street Food Social has become a popular spot. With eight local street food traders, you will be spoilt for choice. Regular vendors are Brother Thai, Sushi Life, Meating Point, BAO Selecta and Ffwrnes pizza. All food and drink is ordered and delivered to your table. It is an outdoor event, but don’t let the cooler evenings put you off, as the majority of the social distanced seats are undercover. Depot is also the home of Bingo Lingo, Oktoberfest, and other one-off events, so you’re sure to find something fun to do.

Depot is close to Future Inn Cardiff. If you drove or got a taxi, it would only take 5-minutes. It is a 10-minute cycle, or you could walk in 25-minutes. There are buses which go from Schooner Way, a street away from our Cardiff Bay hotel, which would also about 25-minutes.

Cardiff’s Drive-In Cinema

The drive-in takes place at Splott Market, which is really easy to get to from Future Inn Cardiff. It is a 6-minute drive from the hotel. You’ll even get to see one of Cardiff’s unofficial tourist destinations on the way, The Magic Roundabout. (For nearly 30 years it has been iconic, where road signs have been made into works of art.)

All cars are parked at a distance from each other. The film is watched from the comfort of your car seat. You could take blankets and cushions to make it cosier, as it’s recommended that you don’t use heating or air-conditioning to prevent a flat battery. You can also order delicious hot and cold food to your car, via an app. Vendors do change, but you could expect Who Cult doughnuts, Franks hotdogs, Two Broke Girls Kitchen (vegan) or Dirty Bird Chicken. Upcoming films include Pulp Fiction, Pretty Woman, The Fast and Furious, Thelma and Louise and Night Crawler.
