Known for his powerful vocals, anthemic indie-rock sound and honest songwriting, the award-winning singer-songwriter will be joined by special guests Wunderhorse for a night of music in the heart of the Welsh capital.

Whether you're a long-time fan or have recently discovered his music, this is the perfect excuse to plan a Cardiff city break around one of the biggest concerts of summer 2027.

Who is Sam Fender?

Sam Fender is a British singer-songwriter and musician from North Shields in North East England. He rose to prominence with his distinctive indie-rock sound, powerful live performances and lyrics exploring everything from working-class life and social inequality to relationships, mental health and growing up.

Influenced by rock legends including Bruce Springsteen, Fender combines guitar-driven melodies with emotionally charged storytelling. His ability to turn personal experiences and everyday observations into huge, singalong choruses has earned him a devoted following across the UK.

His breakthrough album, Hypersonic Missiles, reached number one in the UK Albums Chart in 2019, followed by the equally successful Seventeen Going Under in 2021. The title track became one of his signature songs, cementing his reputation as one of Britain's most compelling contemporary rock artists.

His third album, People Watching, was released in 2025 and won the prestigious Mercury Prize. The album includes the title track and his hugely successful duet with Olivia Dean, Rein Me In, which went on to achieve record-breaking chart success in 2026.
