Pride Cymru's Big Weekend in Cardiff

Cardiff's famous big weekend and LGBTQ+ celebration is back between 27 - 28 August 2022

 

Pride Cymru's event is historically known as Cardiff-Wales LGBT Mardi Gras. Like everyone else, we are eagerly awaiting the information for 2022's celebration. The event is usually held in Bute Park or the City Hall Lawns, a stone's throw from each other. 

The event starts with a parade stretching over a mile long through the streets of Cardiff. In 2018 over 7,000 participants took part. The parade ends where the entertainment begins. The 2019 lineup included Texas, Joel Dommett, Robert White, Charlie Hides, Donna Marie, Rothwell, Shellyann, The Valli Boys, Tina Cousins, and so many more.

Getting to Cardiff City Hall from Future Inn Cardiff

By Car

Cardiff City Hall is a 12-minute taxi ride from Future Inn Cardiff. Parking is available in the city centre as pay and display or by the hour multi-story car parks.  

By Bus

The number 6 Bay Car bus goes from in front of County Hall, a 3-minute walk from the hotel and takes you directly to Cardiff City Hall. The whole journey will take around 25-minutes.

By Train

Cardiff Bay train station is a 5-minute walk from the hotel and takes you to Cardiff Queen Street station, followed by an 11-minute walk to Cardiff City Hall.

By Bike

Nextbike operates in Cardiff, and a station is at the end of Hemingway Road, near Cardiff Bay train station, a 5-minute walk from the hotel. It would then take approximately 14-minutes to cycle to the Nextbike station outside the National Museum of Cardiff, next door to Cardiff City Hall.  Future Inn Cardiff is a cycle-friendly hotel, and we allow guests to keep bikes in their room with cycle mats supplied. 

On Foot

It would take around 35-minutes to walk from the hotel.

Thomas Restaurant is ideal to fuel up before the celebratory events. Every day the team serve breakfast, brunch, and evening a-la-carte menus. Burgers, sandwiches and other lite bites are available on our lunch menu, or a homemade Sunday Roast is served every Sunday between 12pm-5pm.

A homemade Taste of Wales Afternoon Tea is served daily between 1pm-5pm for £16 per person, or our set menu offers 3 courses for £23 daily between 5pm-10pm. A large selection of alcoholic and soft drinks is also available, including Welsh beer, cider and spirits, wine by the glass or the bottle, plus all cocktails are £7 each.
