Welsh National Opera Partnership
Future Inn Cardiff is thrilled to announce the extension of its successful partnership with the renowned Welsh National Opera (WNO). This collaboration, which has flourished over the years, is set to reach new heights, offering patrons an enhanced experience of the arts and hospitality in the heart of Cardiff.
Who are the Welsh National Opera?
In 1943, the Welsh National Opera was founded by a group of people from across South Wales, including miners, teachers and doctors. They wanted to forge an opera company befitting Wales’ rich reputation as the ‘land of song’. The energy which drives the Company today is rooted in its formation in the 1940s.
It has been described by The New York Times as "one of the finest operatic ensembles in Europe". The orchestra tours the world, giving more than 120 music and arts performances annually, with a repertoire of eight operas each year, to a combined audience of more than 150,000 people. Here in Cardiff, performances are predominately at the Wales Millennium Centre building, as well as St David's Hall and The New Theatre.
