Wales may be known for meaty stews and cheesy Glamorgan sausages, but there are plenty of vegan choices across the city. Thomas Restaurant is our vegan-friendly restaurant in Cardiff Bay. We use fresh local ingredients including vegetables, herbs, and spices to create tasty dishes. All of our dishes are homemade on site. We use local and fresh produce to give you a true Taste of Wales.
As well as a selection of cereals which you can enjoy with soya or almond milk, there is fresh fruit and a hot tasty vegan fry-up. It includes 2 vegan sausages, grilled tomato, hash browns, baked beans, mushrooms and sautéed spinach. When pre-ordered, breakfast is £15 per person, under 12’s are £7.50 each and under 5’s dine for free.
Our menus are seasonal and do change often, so we can offer the best fresh and local ingredients. The warming winter menu has included hearty risottos, vegetable and chickpea tagines, roasted butternut squash curry, open sandwiches with olive tapenade, roasted peppers or marinated aubergines, or a superfood salad packed with goodness, including cauliflower cous cous, kale, avocado, carrot, butternut squash and topped with toasted sunflower seeds and lemon dressing.
You can enjoy finger sandwiches, homemade scones and cakes without a fruit salad in sight. Our Taste of Wales afternoon tea is available Monday - Sunday between 1pm-5pm and is priced at £19 per person.
We can offer vegan banqueting menus ideal for weddings and private events such as birthday parties or anniversary dinners that are held with us too.
Yes, it is. However, we do ask that you let us know when you book your overnight stay or meal in the restaurant. All of our food is made on the premises, and we would hate not to have some of the ingredients here. By letting us know, we can make sure our local suppliers deliver what we need, and we have time to make the dishes for you.
