The bi-annual festival takes place between 20th-22nd November 2020
A biennial festival celebrating how Bristol-born Archie Leach changed his name and his fortunes to become internationally famous film star Cary Grant, yet never forgot his Bristol roots. This year’s festival is themed around Hitchcock and Cary Grant and we’ve got ambitious plans to take the next festival to New York in 2020 to celebrate 100 years since Archie started on his journey to becoming Cary Grant.
2020 is the 100-year anniversary of Archie Leach’s emigration to New York – so The Big Apple will feature in the programming, exploring Archie’s experiences in New York – where he lived for 10 years, honed his urbane persona and fell in love with America, before making his way to Hollywood in 1932 – where he reinvented himself as Cary Grant.
We love this article from our friends at Visit Bristol, who have put together 9 facts you never knew about Cary Grans Bristol connections.
