The post-funeral gathering provides an important opportunity to celebrate life and bring much-needed comfort and support. We offer a sensitive, sympathetic and professional approach to organising a celebration of life reception.
Once you have said goodbye to your loved one; at the service, funeral home, funeral directors, burial or cremation, it’s time to have a funeral wake. Friends and family can gather for bereavement support at our venue in Plymouth, Devon.

Bristol Funeral Reception Food and Drink
There are six private function rooms available, accommodating up to 200 seated guests. Our events space extends across the whole top floor with some of the best views over Cabot Circus and across Bristol city centre. There's even a balcony where guests can take and share a moment. There are flexible menus and refreshment packages, from buffets to more formal meals. Packages can be tailor-made to suit any requirements. Private bar facilities are also an option for you.
Hot and Cold Buffets
Each of the event spaces offers a range of refreshment and catering opportunities, including healthy options. From teas, coffees, and pastries to lunch menus, including finger buffets or three-course dinners, our talented chefs make most of our food on-site using some of the finest local produce and ingredients.
The team also have experience with halal and other religious requirements.

An option to have a tea and coffee station is also available. Guests will be able to help themselves to freshly brewed coffee and a selection of teas. Plus, milk, sugar and sweeteners.
Bar Facilities
Depending on your numbers, a private bar is also an option for the wake, fully manned by our staff. The team can also offer drinks packages including champagne, prosecco, wine or buckets with bottled beers, lager, cider and soft drinks. All of which can be on the tables for when your guests arrive.

How to get to Future Inns
Future Inn Bristol boasts easy access to the M32 and M5. The venue is just a mile from Bristol Temple Meads Station, and buses stop on the opposite side of the road. Ample parking is available at nearby Cabot Circus, next door to the venue.

Accessibility
Despite its top-floor location, the venue is entirely accessible, thanks to lift access, wide doors on the whole level and fully accessible toilets. All public areas and meeting spaces in the hotel are accessible for wheelchair users, with open spaces and wide corridors. Our spaces are suitable for all beliefs and preferences. We work with you to ensure the tone and style of the event reflect your wishes.
Can we hold a short memorial or tribute during the wake?
Absolutely. Many families choose to include readings, poems, or a moment of reflection. Our team can assist you in arranging seating or a microphone if needed.
Do you require a deposit or booking in advance?
Yes, to secure the space, we usually require a small deposit. The date for the full balance will be given to you. Our team will talk you through the process with care and flexibility.
How long can we have the room for?
We offer flexible booking times to suit your needs - whether you'd like a brief gathering or a longer event. Most funeral receptions last between 2 and 4 hours, but we’re happy to accommodate your wishes where possible
Do you have accessible facilities?
Yes, our venue is fully accessible, with step-free access, wide doorways, accessible toilets, and parking bays. If you have specific mobility concerns, we’ll do everything we can to assist.
Can children attend the wake?
Yes, children are welcome at Future Inn Bristol. We offer a children’s menu for under 12s, and children under 5 eat free. We can also provide highchairs and quieter spaces if needed.
Do you work with local funeral directors or celebrants?
While most families arrange their own services, we’re happy to recommend local partners - such as venue decor, florists and entertainment - if you need guidance.
