Insole Court
Insole Court is a Victorian mansion set in ornamental gardens in the ancient cathedral city of Llandaff within Cardiff, the capital city of Wales.
This unique park consists of a stunning series of ornamental features and mature trees in the grounds of Insole Court. The mansion was built in the 1850's for the Insole family. The quality of the mansion and gardens reflected the wealth of the family gained through coal exporting.
St Mary the Virgin Church
St Mary’s Church restored to the city the name of the first monastic church to be built in Cardiff in 1080.
It was built in 1843 on land gifted by the Marquess of Bute, to serve the expanding docklands residential area, in a Parish carved of the area of the Tudor city Parish of St John the Baptist. It is a renowned for its distinctive anglo-Catholic tradition of worship.
City Hall
City Hall houses an extensive art collection, including "Winter" by Joseph Farquharson. The collection is displayed for visitors to view, subject to the rooms not being hired for private functions. There is also a booklet with full details of the art collection available free from the reception desk at City Hall.
The Clock Tower of City Hall is perhaps the most distinctive architectural feature of the building, bold and asymmetrical and a well-loved Cardiff landmark.
